All other forms of watersports can be enjoyed in this island paradise. Gozo, Malta has facilities for those who wish to indulge their passion for windsurfing, swimming, snorkelling or even para-gliding.

There are the spectacular Sannat or Ta'Cenc Cliffs ( left ), the beautiful fishing village at Xlendi Bay with it's 17th century guard tower, the salt-pans at Marsalforn, Qbajjar and Xwejni.

For those who wish to relax on the beach, there are the golden sands at Ramla l-Hamra (below left) and traditional lace can be found in the local markets.

No trip to Gozo, Malta would be complete with seeing the stunning Azure Window ( below right). This natural opening, straight and perpendicular, is cut into the rock with an equally straight and huge horizontal roof. The Blue Window, as it's also known, draws tourists and locals alike to sketch and photograph this wonder of the Maltese islands.

Gozo, Malta has many other place of interest, including the Neolithic temples at Ggantija, the Calypso cave where the daughter of Atlas tended to Ulysses for seven years, after his ship was struck by a thunderbolt. Visit Dahlet-Qorrot to see the boat houses carved from the rocks and swim in the Blue Lagoon near Comino.

For those who wish to travel further afield, the main island of Malta is only a short ferry away and ferries travel every 20 minutes. These ferries run throughout the night during the high season. On this sister island, visit historic locations like the fortified medieval city of Mdina, otherwise known as The Silent City and it's beautiful capital of Valetta. For the more adventurous, Sicily can also be reached by ferry.
